So over the last couple of posts you’ve discovered the importance of social search and how it’s impacting how your buyers are making buying decisions online.
And since social search optimization is taking it’s place alongside SEO, it’s time you start socially optimizing your website to take advantage of all this referral traffic, right?
The first step in social search optimization is to make sure it’s drop dead easy for your buyers to share your business with their friends, friends of friends, family members and business associates.
You need a quick and easy way to connect your site to the social web in a way that maximizes the amount of potential buyers visiting your website.
Now if you’ve been reading my tips for awhile, you know how much I love using WordPress as my primary website.
One of the reasons I love WordPress so much is because of ” WordPress plugins”. (WordPress plugins are applications that enhance WordPress’s capabilities. In the old days you would have had to hire a programmer to create these functions. Most of these plugins are free and you can find a plugin for just about anything.)
So today, I’m going to reveal 5 simple and easy ways to make it drop dead simple for your buyers to share your website with their social networks.
1. Apture.com: This is my new favorite tool. All you have to do is visit their website and create your share bar for free. If you scroll down on my website you’ll see the drop down bar appear which makes it super easy for your buyers to share content through Facebook, Twitter and email. There is also a handy search feature as well.
2. Facebook Like Button: This plugin makes it super easy for your readers to share your content on Facebook simply by clicking the like button. I put this button at the bottom of my posts so folks can like my post after they’ve read it.
3. tweetmeme: Similar to the Facebook share button this little plugin allows your buyers to easily tweet your posts and your website. It also keeps stats on who has tweeted your posts and who has retweeted your post. This way you can thank your tweeters thus fostering a more personal relationship with your buyers.
4.Google Buzz Button: Again similar to the Facebook “like button” and “tweetmeme” in that it makes it super easy for your readers to “buzz” your content.
5. Sociable: I like this plugin because you can pick and choose which social bookmarking and social media directories you want to show on your blog.
You can actually see on my blog how I’ve used all 5 of these tools to help promote my content to my buyers social networks.
It kind of reminds me of:

P.S. Remember, marketing is a lot like fishing, you never know what the fish will bite until you cast out your line. Why not cast out several lines using a bunch of different baits? Make sense?

Nice selection of tools Bill. I like your last statement, it reminds me of a statement that a smart marketer at PodcampPhilly suggested whic is that all of your outposts(sites like Facebook, Youtube, Twitter) be interconnected, with your blog or site being the center of the hub, because you just don’t know where people will find you.
Hi Adam,
Thanks for checking in. Yep, I like to call the center of the hub my “money page.” All of your “feeder” sites funnel traffic back to your main website.
