SEO Tips- Do You Make These Mistakes With Your Website Content?

A big mistake most business owners make when it comes to getting their website found by their buyers is NOT adding
additional pages of fresh relevant content on a regular basis.
And one of the best ways to get your site ranking highly in the search engines and increase traffic to your website is by adding quality content using your most important keywords for your marketplace or niche.
Now here’s the thing, this not only applies to your main website, but to your “squeeze pages” and affiliate websites as well.
You see, Google does not like “thin sites” with little or no usable content for your buyers and visitors.
Google rankings are all about being relevant to the searchers intent and giving the end user a great experience on the web.
It’s highly unlikely that a 1 page squeeze page or “thin affiliate website” will achieve either goal.
So, if you’re using “squeeze pages” as an online marketing strategy you’ll be much better off creating 5-10 content rich articles on your domain and then putting your squeeze page on top of those pages.
You’ll then link from those pages to your squeeze page which will help it rank higher for your keywords.
Another great way to add content to your website is by adding a business blog. The best way to do this is by adding the blog to a folder inside your website like this: www.yourdomain.com/blog.
Dollar for dollar there is NO better way to market your business online than by adding a business blog to your website. You’ll add an additional 144 pages of content to your website just posting 3 times a week!
Considering most of your competitors will only have a 5 page website at the most, you’ll be dominating your niche or marketplace in no time!
Ok, so now that I’ve shared with you some great ways to add new content to your websites, let’s go over a couple of things you should avoid at all costs!
With this said, 2 strategies you want to avoid when adding new content to your website is “auto generated pages” and “scraped content.”
Auto generated pages are where people take an original article and run it through a software program to mix around and change the words and sentences to make it look fresh and new.
However, like most online tricks, Google has caught on to this practice and has the ability to identify this type of content. If Google catches on to you, Google may choose not to include your web page in their search engine results and your web page or website could get de-indexed ( Removed from the search engines altogether).
Scraped content is when a website owner simply copies and pastes original content from other sources such as RSS feeds, article directories and other online content sources. This can also be done automatically with “scraping software.” Many times this content is not relevant to the website topic or niche and probably does not provide any value to your buyer.
Remember there is no better way to drive traffic to your website than by adding fresh relevant content to your website on a regular basis.
In the next couple of posts I’ll go over some of the ways you can get content for your site and some rules you’ll want to follow to maximize all the content you’ll be adding!
