Do Your SEO Strategies Add Up In Google’s Eyes

You hear me talk a lot about seeing your SEO strategies through Google’s eyes.
I hammer this point home because you have the ability to call the shots when it comes to what YOU want Google to show YOUR buyers online.
For example, if you’re trying to get a web-page to rank for “blue widgets,” wouldn’t you want Google to show your buyers the very best page for this product or service?
Well if you have multiple pages on your website optimized for “blue widgets,” Google will pick which page it wants to show on it’s search engine results page.
I don’t know about you, but I’d rather call the shots and tell Google which web-page to show my buyers when they’re searching for something related to my business, right?
So if you want to make sure Google shows you’re “best content” for the term “blue widget,” you’ll need to make sure your SEO strategies add up in Google’s eyes and here’s how to do it.
First, you’ll need to make sure all your on page SEO strategies are in line with the term you’re trying to rank for. You’ll want to make sure the title tags, article title and the body copy on your web-page relate to your keyword or keyword phrase.
Second, you’ll want to make sure the internal links ( The links pointing from a page within your website to another page within your website) are using the proper anchor text linking strategies. In other words, the keyword you’re trying to rank for should be linked to your web-page rather than something like “click here.” ( You can read more about anchor text and anchor text linking by clicking on the blue highlighted text)
Third, be sure you’re external links ( The links coming from websites outside of your site) are relevant to your website and also use the proper anchor text links back to your web-page.
So in your next lesson you’ll discover how to leverage this this information and dictate to Google which web page you want them to show your buyers.
Talk to you then.
