In my last post on SEO business blogging I discussed with you 10 different ways to create content for your business blog. So today I’m sticking with the SEO business blogging topic and I’ll share with you 10 smart strategies to leverage your blog posts in your marketing.
These strategies are very powerful and will allow you to take just one (1) 300-500 word blog post and supercharge it all over the internet to get you more traffic and make you more money!
1. Turn your blog post into an article. After writing a blog post I’ll rewrite it as an article and submit it to various article directories. I don’t re-write the entire article just the title and enough of the body to make it read a little different.
2.Create relationships with your customers. It’s unlikely all of your customers will read your blog so it’s a good idea to email them your post. All I do is cut and paste my blog post into my auto responder and email it to my customers. To get your folks back to your website simply paste half your post and provide a link that your customer can click which takes them back to your site. This is a great way to stay in contact with your list even if they are not visiting your site on a daily basis.
3.Write a book. Most blogs are organized around categories you create. You’ll want to think of your categories in terms of chapters for your book. When you publish a blog post and assign a category you’ll be setting the foundation for your book. When you’re ready to write your book, just search all posts by category and you’ll have all the content you’ll need for your chapter. Pretty neat right? This is a great way to leverage your blog content.
4.“Ping” the Internet.”Pinging” means to notify other sites like blog directories and search engines that you’ve updated your site with new content. WordPress.org allows you to install a “ping list” and automatically does this for you each time you publish new content to your business blog.
5.Social Bookmark Your Blog Posts. Submitting your blog posts to Social bookmarking sites such as Digg, Technorati, Stumble Upon and Delicious.com allows your readers to save links of their favorite websites and web pages they want to share or refer back to later. This is a great way to get more eyes to your website and can be done automatically with a WordPress plugin like “Sociable.”
6. Distribute your blog post via RSS submissions.RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication”. It’s an easy way to send your content out all over the internet. The benefits to submitting your post to RSS directories is that your content is distributed to thousands of people with a simple click of a button.
7.Create” Twitter food.” Once you publish a new post submit the title of your post and URL to your twitter feed. Alert your followers that you’ve just published new content and ask your followers to “re-tweet” the post if they find it useful. This is a great way to get traffic back to your site and a link back to your blog post.
8.Create “Facebook food.” Very similar to Twitter food however you’re updating your Facebook page or personal profile with your post information. In fact, you can feed your twitter account into your Facebook page so anytime you send a tweet it automatically uploads to your Facebook page saving you a ton of time!
9. Alert the press! Is your blog post news worthy? Why not turn your blog post into a press release and link it back to your post? A press release does not have to be very long so just take a portion of your blog post submit it as a press release and link back to your blog post.
10. Build your list and make more money. The way you do this is by having a call to action in every blog post. The call to action could either be an offer to purchase your products or services, to join your email list or simply requests your readers to comment on your post.
Business blogging for SEO is a great way to get your business found online. You see, I look at SEO as much more than just optimizing your site for the search engines, instead, I look at it as a way to build fans and build community around my products and services and you can do the same thing!
