I’ve been asked by several of my subscribers to put together an action list of “Easy SEO tweaks” any business owner could use to start ranking higher in the search engines.

And because I love my subscribers, I’ve put together this 7 step process for improving your “on-page SEO factors” almost immediately!

Remember, on page SEO factors are those you can see when you’re actually looking at your website.

So, without any further ado, Here is your 7 step system for improving your search engine rankings almost immediately!

1. Use your keywords in your Title Tags and do not exceed 60 characters or about 9 words total. Again, your main keyword should be as close to the start of your tag as possible.  If you want to use your company name in the title tag put it at the end. ( Read My Post On SEO Title Tags Here)

2.Write compelling meta descriptions for each of your web pages. Make sure to use your keywords and make sure you give your prospect to click on your listing. ( Read My Post On SEO Meta Descriptions Here)

3. Use your keywords in your copy. For every 100 words you write, use your keyword no more than 3 times for a 3%keyword density (keywords as % of total word count).

4. Use your <H> tags such as your H1, H2, H3 etc. Your H1 tag is your most important and should be used as the title of your page. Again, your keyword should go as close to the start of your page title as possible.( Read My Post On SEO <H1> tags Here)

5.Make sure to use bold, underline and italic font styles for your keywords.

6. Keyword Location.  Make sure your main keyword is in the title of your web page, in the first sentence of your first paragraph and in the last sentence of your last paragraph.

7. Use Anchor Text when linking to other pages in your site.  When linking to another site or another page on your website make sure to hyperlink your keywords with anchor text. ( Read my post on anchor text linking)

This is a pretty simple and straight forward list even the biggest SEO novice can use to start ranking higher in the search engines.

If you have any SEO “tweaks” you would like to add or share please let me know in the comment box. I’d love to hear from you!
