One of the most important things you can do to improve sales and make more money either offline or online is to customize your marketing message.
One of the worlds best copywriters and marketers, the late Gary Halbert used to say, ” If you wanted to sell hamburgers, the best way to do it was to find a starving crowd.”
Now I used to get mad when I heard this because I not only heard it from Gary Halbert but a lot of so called “marketing gurus’ liked to use this phrase as well.
I mean where the heck are you going to find this so called “hungry crowd?”
Well I will tell you it’s pretty to easy to do online yet it’s one of the biggest mistakes I see most business owners make with their website.
You see most business owners build their website around terms and content they “think” their customers are searching for. The problem with this strategy is “You are NOT your customer.”
You see it makes absolutely no sense to design a website if you first do not know what your customers want or are searching for.
It’s your job to find that hungry market and feed them what they are already hungry for or in your case…searching for.
So before you do any website design you’ll want to do a little research first finding what folks are searching for in your industry or niche.
This pretty easy to do with free keyword tools like Wordtracker and the google adwords tool.
So before you set out to build your brand new website make sure you do your keyword research and find what your customers are searching for and then give it to them!
