Business Blogging : Why You Must Use A Business Blog For Your Business Website!

Let’s discuss the third way to integrate a business blog into your current online marketing situation, OK?

The third and final way is to simply replace your current outdated website with a business blog.

There are actually a number of reasons you’ll want to do this especially if you are a soloprenuer or brick and mortar business owner.

Let’s go over just a few, shall we?

If you’re brick and mortar business owner or soloprenuer you want to get your content up fast right?

You don’t want to wait around until your webmaster gets around to putting up your new content do you?

Right….didn’t think so!

So with a business blog you can update your website whenever and where ever you want.

You see, a blog is a web based program meaning as long as you have an internet connection you’re able to log into your business blog with a username and pasword and access your blogs dash board and add content until your heart’s content.

And here’s a tip…the hidden benefit in this is you’ll own your content.

What do I mean by “You own your content?”

Well I’m glad you asked…let’s keep going and find out, OK

You see when a webmaster builds a traditional style HTML website, your website files are stored on THEIR computer.

If their computer was to be damaged in a fire or flood, you’ll lose your website files.

The other issue is ( And you’re seeing this more and more often unfortunately) if your webmaster has his computer seized, or a theft occurs, your files are gone!

Because your business blog is web based, you never have to worry about someone taking or losing your files, see what I’m saying?

Now let’s say you’re  just too busy running your business to actually publish your blog posts…no problem, you see a WordPress Blog  allows you to give others ( Office Staff, Virtual Assistant, Office Web Geek or ME) their very own user name and password so they can post the content for you!

( Oh by the way, I HIGHLY recommend you run your Business Blog with WordPress)

And here’s the really cool thing, you can set permission levels easily and only allow your virtual assistant or office web geek  to access certain areas of your website you want them to!

How cool is that?

And don’t think for a second it will be too difficult for some of your less “tech savvy” office staff to update your website.

Updating a WordPress Blog  is like child’s play!

If you can type an email or write a letter using word processing software such as micro-soft word, you can update your Business Blog!

The other advantage of a Business Blog is they are VERY SEO (  Search Engine Optimization ) friendly right out of the box!

In other words Google, Yahoo, MSN and all the other search engines love blogs because of the fresh new content they produce.

In the old days before blogs you would need to hire a webmaster and a SEO expert to drive traffic to your website.

Not any longer!

As long as you are writing new content on a regular basis ( at least 3 times per week)  and you’re going after the proper keywords and keyword phrases your customers and prospects are searching for, the search engines will find your blog.

Make no mistake about it, I don’t care how fancy your website looks, if your prospects and customers can’t find your website online, you’re going to leave a ton of money on the table Bubba!

Sorry to be so harsh but this is the reality!

A business blog makes an excellent content management system where you can manage all your written content, your photos, your video and your audio.

It’s super easy to upload your content to a WordPress Blog to create new web pages, audio and videos for your clients to see!

Again, it’s all about getting your website found, building a relationship with your prospects, collecting the leads and then making the sale.

Remember, the selling process does NOT start until you establish trust with your prospects FIRST!

So, you really have three choices when it comes to integrating a business blog into your current marketing system.

You can create a business blog on its own domain, add your business blog to a subfolder or subdirectory of your existing website or replace your current website with a business blog.

My recommendation is  by far an away to move your existing website to a business blog platform like WordPress.

So I hope this helps you with your decision as to how you can add a business blog to your current marketing system!
