7 Ways To Leverage Your Website’s Elevator Pitch

So yesterday you discovered the importance of having a quality elevator pitch for your website.website elevator pitch

Today, I’d like to share with you 7 ways to leverage your website’s elevator pitch and increase traffic to your website or business blog.

1) Your website’s tag line.  Having a clear and concise tag line on your website quickly communicates what your website is all about to your buyers and new visitors.   Remember you have 7 seconds in most cases to capture your buyers attention online.

2) Your “About” Page. Every website should have an “About  Us” page.  It’s often the second most popular page on your website next to your home page. This is a great place to tell folks all about your business and entice them to read more about you. ( See my previous post on 7 Website Design Mistakes That Are Costing Your Big Time)

3) Networking. Having an elevator pitch when networking belly to belly is very important. I’ve been to many networking events where the hosts asks business owners to share their elevator speeches. I’m always amazed how poorly constructed most pitches are. Don’t blow it!  Craft your message and practice it!

4) Your Business Cards. Most business cards are unmemorable.  Putting your elevator pitch on your business card helps people remember you and your business.  This is especially true after receiving a bunch of business cards after a busy conference or seminar.

( Speaking of business cards, I’m doing a lot of work in the world of text message marketing. If you would like to see an example of how text message marketing  works, text- WilPar001 to 70259 and I’ll send you a copy of my electronic business card)

5) Guest Blogging. A great way to grow your customer list and build quality “one way back-links” is to write guest blog posts.  Blog owners are always looking for high quality content they can share with their readers. What you’ll want to do is find a high traffic blog related to your niche or industry and write a quality blog post for it.  E-mail your post along with your elevator pitch to the blog owner. Attaching your elevator pitch makes it much more likely your post will get accepted.

6) Your Signatures. Rather than leaving boring one or two word signatures in your email or forum posts, add your elevator pitch instead. If your elevator pitch is written properly, you’ll get folks interested in learning more about you and they’ll click the link in your signature.

7) Your Social Media Marketing Profiles. You’ll never be at a loss for words when describing your business to make the “right” connections through your social media marking efforts. Including a well written elevator pitch on your profiles will help you attract more highly qualified buyers and potential joint venture partners.

So there you have it, 7 ways to leverage your website’s elevator pitch. In your next tip I’ll show you how to write a quality elevator pitch for your website.
